Get Involved

The foundation is a group of dedicated parent volunteers who are responding to the students and community and supporting the staff at TIDE Academy.  Our support has helped:

Students: We fund an additional college counselor, support clubs & after school activities, support student led events such as school dances, created a senior fund which allows each senior to participate fully in all graduation activities.

Staff: We fund and provide volunteer support for staff appreciation events, holiday and end-of-year gifts.

Volunteer with the Foundation! There are many ways to get involved and support the foundation and ultimately support TIDE Academy.

Volunteer with a Committee
Foundation Board: Consider joining the foundation board. We meet via Zoom once a month with the principle of TIDE Academy to review funding requests and develop the best strategy for raising funds and partnering with members of the community to best meet the needs of the students at TIDE Academy. Help us discover the best strategy.

Recruitment & Orientation: Help us welcome families to TIDE, both 9th grade and transfer students by hosting orientation! Welcome families and great an opportunity for parents to mingle while their students get acclimated to TIDE's campus. Help the administration at various recruitment events at TIDE. Help answer parents questions, parent to parent.

Communications: Help build and update the Foundation website, compose our newsletter and help in promote events!

Special Events: Help foster our warm, inviting, inclusive, and celebratory TIDE community! Leads will organize community events (family picnic, parent coffees, etc.), and other events to help build community throughout the year. Volunteers will help at events and bring in snacks or treats, as requested by the leads.

Staff Appreciation: Help express appreciation for our amazing staff at TIDE! Leads will organize 3 appreciation events per semester (lunches/breakfasts), as well as help organize gifts around the holidays and at the end-of-year gifts. Volunteers will help at events and bring in snacks or treats, as requested by the leads.

General Help: We often have last-minute requests for help. If you are willing to be contacted to fill in for various needs throughout the school year (school/community events, dances, etc.) please check yes. There are no specific obligations.

Become a Mentor
Mentors meet with our junior class once a month for 8 themed sessions 75 minutes' duration one Thursday each month from October through April. You will be a positive role model and trusted advisor for 1-2 TIDE students, leveraging your educational and professional experiences to help prepare the students for post-secondary opportunities. No experience necessary! Questions?  Please contact Sree Ghosh at sghosh@seq.org

Internships
Students gain valuable experience, make connections, build soft skills like teamwork, critical thinking and adaptability; and use the knowledge gained from their internship to structure their future education. Internships are highly successful at preparing homegrown talent for the future workforce, while building a leadership pipeline within your organization. Interested in furthering the discussion?
